Composting Workshop is presented by West Interlake Watershed Conservation District (WIWCD) in affiliation with Green Action Centre and Lundar Ag Society.
Composting is a natural process by which organic material decomposes to form a rich fertilizer.
Food scraps and yard waste make up about 40% of what we throw away and can be composted instead.
Composting will help you to save money on expensive fertilizers, as finished compost that you produce is free. You can save money on watering, as compost enriches soil, helping retain moisture and suppress plant diseases and pests. It also reduces methane emissions from landfills and lowers carbon footprint.
At this workshop you will learn how to get started, what to put in your bin and how to maintain it, what to do about winter composting and much more...
Join us for this FREE Workshop and learn all about Composting!
Coffee and dainties will be provided.
Door Prizes: two composting bins
